Apple roses from puff pastry
12. September 2026Apple roses from puff pastry
- 1 pc PRETO Radoma Angel puff pastry
- 2 smaller red apples
- a few drops of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1 yolk
- Powder sugar for sprinkling
If you use frozen or unrolled puff pastry, there is a little more of it, so you will need a little more of the remaining ingredients. It is important to roll out the dough thinly and into a rectangle.
Wash the apples, cut them in half, remove the core and cut them into thin slices. Then put the apples in a small pot with water. Add the lemon juice and then heat gently for about 5 minutes before carefully draining. By boiling the apples for a while, they will soften and be easier to roll into the shape of a rose. Cut the dough into 6 equally wide strips. Stack the apple slices on top so that they overlap and finally sprinkle with a little cinnamon.
Grease the sides of the roses with beaten egg yolk, place in a greased muffin tin or use baking paper. Bake in an oven heated to 175 degrees Celsius for approximately 45-55 minutes. The dough has many layers, so the inside must also be thoroughly baked, even though the cookies are small.
Let the baked apple roses cool and, if you want, sprinkle a little more powdered sugar.
